May 17-With one week of points in the books, the karters in the Junior class were ready to kick off the afternoon show at Whip City Speedway.

Looking to repeat a feature win was Justin Walts in the #1. But with eight cars starting, it was going to be a hard battle for Walts. Taking the lead at the drop of the green was last years champion, the 51 of Josh Wood. Wood took the lead by a slim margin over the 22 of Kara Franqueza. Once Wood cleared Franqueza, he started to walk away from the field. After the first caution in the twelve lap event, it was still Wood in the lead with Franqueza in second. Holding down the rest of the top five were Dylan Dexter in the #43, the 00 of Robby Spino and Justin Walts in the #1. After three cautions and many battles, Josh Wood was able to take down the win. With Dylan Dexter, Justin Walts, Anna Coons and Makayla Lucia-Perry rounding out the top five.

In the Novice, they saw seven cars take the green flag. Jumping into a quick lead was the #30 of Corey Lemelin. Once in the lead, Lemelin left the #20 of Dylan Irish and the #25 of Ed Adametz IV. As the race went on, Irish and Adametz had the best battle on the track. Lemelin on the other hand, was setting a blistering pace by lapping every one except Irish and Adametz. But as the race went, Adametz had to leave the racing surface. So that just left Lemelin and Irish on the lead lap. When it was all said and done Corey Lemelin going two for two.

Out next was the action packed Turquoise class. Taking the early lead was the #33 of Alex Blanco. But due to a first lap accident, Blanco was forced to challenge for a second time. When the green came back out, Blanco was able to take a slim lead. Looking to take the lead from him right from the start was Kyle Smith in the #4. With little troubles, Smith was able to get around Blanco for the lead. Once Smith took the lead, the battle was from third back. That battle was between the #34 of Kate Lafreniere and the #98 of Alex Adamsky. But after a brief caution, the field was mainly single file racing. When the checkers flew, it was Smith taking down the win. Rounding out the top five were Nora Lemelin, Cullen Pike, Kate Lafreniere and R.J Currey.

In the Lites, it went from green to checker without a single file racing. Taking the lead at the drop of the green was the #18 of Chris Tack. But right from the beginning, the 01 of Steven Rockwood was challenging for the lead. Also looking to take a chance on a pass was the #78 of Scott Kalber. But managing to hold on to the lead was Tack. Keeping a low profile though on the track was the #8 of Tyler Virgillio and the #88 of William Coons. Taking down the feature win was the #18 of Chris Tack.

Following the Lites was the ever popular Heavy division. Eleven cars took the green flag. And the one driver taking charge of the field was the #16 of Dan Murdzia. With him jumping into the lead, that left second back battling two by two. Managing to break away from the pack to challenge for the lead was Bruce Dodge in the #8. But he was unable to get around him. A few cars back though, the #44 of Rich Dulac and the #14 of Justin Dube kept trading paint. Making his way through the field to challenge for the lead was the #22 of Jake Sapowsky. Sapowsky was able to take the lead from Murdzia and take down the win.

Rounding out the afternoon was the 2-Stroke division. Originally scheduled to take the green was seven cars. But due to mechanical problems, the #4 of Roger Angers, Jr failed to start the event. When the green flag flew it was Don Wood in the #51 taking the lead. Behind him, the #10 of Dan Card and the #38 of Jay Wood battled for position. Managing to take second was Card. Then the next battle for position was between Jay Wood, Ernie Whidden and Rich Dulac. But none of them had anything for Don Wood. Don Wood went on to take down the feature w in
